The Kindergarten class was thrilled to discover a small waterfall, lots of frogs, and fish while exploring the neighborhood. They reaped a bounty of plants, including sunflowers, cleome pods and enough acorns to keep the school's squirrels happy all winter. The Riverside Nursery generously gave the students gourds to take home. We can't wait for the spring to plant all the seeds we collected!

Early Childhood spent a fun-filled morning picking apples and exploring nature at Demarest Farms. After taking a hayride to the apple orchard, the children filled their bags – and mouths – with sweet, crunchy apples, had a picnic lunch, and fed hay to the farm animals! We incorporated the apples into our lessons back at school: estimating, graphing, sorting, cutting, baking, and learning Hebrew vocabulary related to apples. Everyone returned to GBDS tired, but happy!
